Our Mission
We love the glitz and the glam of the stage, the smell of hairspray, and the rush of adrenaline before a performance. But we also know that sometimes, you just want to move, feel good, and escape the world for a little while, without the pressure of being in the spotlight. At ilLustrious Studios, there is space for both.
Here, you can be your most outrageous, ridiculous, fabulous self, or you can simply come as you are and enjoy the freedom of movement. There are no expectations, no pressure—just a welcoming space to dance, create, and connect.

Our Story
Founded by Lola Lust, ilLustrious Studios was created as a safe, supportive space for people to dance, perform, and express themselves freely. Whether you dream of the stage or just want to move without judgment, you are welcome here. This is a place to find joy in movement—however that looks for you.
Lola has been dancing since she was five years old, but for most of her life, she was told she’d never be good enough. Pushed to the back row, overlooked, and underestimated. But instead of giving up, she created something different—a space where everyone belongs, where movement isn’t about perfection but expression, joy, and taking up space on your own terms.
Proudly female-owned and queer-owned, ilLustrious Studios is more than a dance studio—it’s a community. We champion female and queer-led businesses, and we welcome anyone who wants to move, create, and embrace their own unique style of expression.
This space is for the femmes, the flamboyant, the fierce, the fluid, and the fearless—for themmes, gents, and everyone beyond the binary. Whether you strut in stilettos, groove in sneakers, or have never danced a day in your life, there’s a place for you here.
We’re here for the bold, the playful, the glamorous, and the unapologetically silly—because movement is about more than technique. It’s about freedom, confidence, and claiming your space.

Accessibility acknowledgement & Commitment
We acknowledge that ilLustrious Studios is not currently an accessible space, as there are stairs both at the entrance and leading to the bathrooms. We recognise that this excludes a significant portion of our community, and we deeply regret this barrier to access.
As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we will:
Organise future events in accessible venues and offer free tickets to those unable to access the studio.
Regularly donate to and highlight local disability organisations and advocates.
Continue working towards greater accessibility in our offerings and seek solutions to better serve our entire community.
